Insanely Helpful Working Mom Cleaning Schedule You Need Today
Every woman could benefit from some structure in her cleaning regimen. However, it’s insanely important for working moms to have a cleaning schedule they can actually stick to. Motherhood is a constant loop of cleaning the same mess REPEATEDLY. It can get overwhelming at times especially when you’ve used all your energy for the day and you just want rest. I’ve found that having a cleaning schedule by task instead of by room is ridiculously helpful. This allows you to hit multiple areas you were going to encounter without letting a whole room look insane because it’s not that room’s day. Try this weekly working mom cleaning schedule by task to keep a clean house.
Monday Cleaning
It’s important to pick key tasks instead of saving whole rooms for certain days. Spend Monday washing bedding, cleaning your child’s room, and organizing you desk.
Monday is great for washing your bedding because it’s something that you can start before work, move it to the dryer during a break, then make your bed before you pick up your little one. Very simple to work into any work from home schedule.
Cleaning your child’s room Monday instead of over the weekend makes it more likely you’ll get everything from the mess they are sure to make over the weekend.
Organizing your desk on Monday morning is a no brainer. Go into the new week with a fresh start. Having everything set up exactly as you want will make your whole week go smoothly. And a clean environment will help you feel less overwhelmed.
Tuesday Working Mom Cleaning Schedule
Reserve Tuesday for bathroom focused chores. Bathrooms are often overlooked. Tuesday is the perfect day to give them some special attention because it’s usually not the busiest days.
Clean your mirrors, this includes your full length mirrors. Get the toothpaste out the sink and clean your toilets, tubs, and showers.
Wednesday Cleaning Schedule
Wednesday’s should consist of 2 light chores and 1 major. To keep it light do some light dusting and wipes your tables. This includes dining tables and coffee tables.
Take it light with those because Wednesday’s are going to be the day you sweep all your floors including the stairs. Hardwood and tile floors should be swept and carpets should be vacuumed.
Thursday Chore List
Thursday’s, clean your stairs. They are often overlooked when vacuuming other rooms. You’re even more likely to ignore is the walls. Wash those walls! They need TLC too.
Other important chores are doing laundry and putting it away SAME DAY! Clean out the fridge on Thursday’s too if you plan your grocery trips Friday or Saturday.
Friday Working Mom Cleaning Schedule
Clean appliances and mop to go not the weekend with a tidy kitchen. I’m in love with the O-Cedar mop right now! Let me know if you have one in the comments, and what you think. Wipe the cabinets down for any spills that may have happened that you did not notice throughout the week.
Saturday and Sunday
Try to reserve your weekends for as much good quality family time as possible. I know this is easier said than done when working Monday through Friday 9-5. However, just use this time for light tidying.
Try taking one weekend deep cleaning the house just the way you want. Then, by following the cleaning schedule we just went over, you should no longer have the need for much weekend cleaning.
